Our firstborn baby girl, K, has been in the Overlake NICU unit for almost two months now. I am very impressed with Nurse Sherrill as she has consistently demonstrated superior care for K and my family. Her encouragement and mentorship on caring for our fragile premature baby have played a huge role in lessening our anxiety and fear as new parents. Sherrill is very special to us because she is like a grandmother to K. Her gentle touch and soft voice are very soothing for our baby. There was one night, in particular, where K was incredibly agitated. Both my husband and I couldn't calm her. We ran out of ideas, and I was starting to worry and panic. Although Sherrill was not assigned to be K's nurse that night, she came into check on us. Sherrill was our hero that night as she immediately knew how to talk to K, how to normalize her heart rate and respiratory rate, and how to help K feel comfortable again. I have also observed how much Sherrill's colleagues adore her and trust her for guidance. As for K and my family, Sherrill consistently provides her utmost undivided attention when caring for all of us. She is very keen to our baby's needs. For example, noting that K is awake and cueing 30 minutes before her feeding time, Sherrill ensures our baby's feedings are always on time (she can get really fussy when her feedings are just a few minutes late). When we call in to get an update on K, Sherrill is so pleasant and provides us with all the information we need to feel good about returning to work. We love nurse Sherill.
