I just wanted to take a minute to reach out to tell you about how well I thought your team handled a patient recently.  The patient was a very difficult case and was finding every object he could to either break or harm himself with.  As you know 2 West is not really equipped to meet the needs of an individual like that.  Security was called multiple times to assist.  We were there for long periods of time, and I have to say I was truly impressed with Charge Nurse Sherry Collins.  She took the assignment upon herself and was alongside us the whole time so that her team didn’t have to.  She worked really hard to be a liaison between doctors, 3 South, Security, and the patient himself.  When objects were broken or needed to be removed, she adapted to the situation and sought out departments she could reach out to in order to make the environment as safe as possible unit the patient was moved to 3 South.  

It was a very busy day and at the end of it security had paperwork that needed to be filled out.  She stuck to her word and came back to the office to make sure we had the paperwork needed to properly document the situation that took place, which may not seem like a big deal but for us it’s a huge part of our jobs.  

Overall, I just wanted to say your team did a great job with the difficulties presented to them.
