She answers questions easily and with confidence. She is incredible with updating me every step of the way. I know the TICU has many patients, but with Sherry, I felt like we were the only ones there.
I want to take a moment and rave about one of the nurses in the TICU. My partner, T, was admitted 3 weeks ago after a horrific accident at work. Where after 6 days, he lost his leg. Sherry was one of his many nurses that took care of him. The team in the TICU is outstanding, but Sherry goes up and beyond every day she is at work. Some of the many things she has done for us:
The day his leg was amputated, she stayed 3 hours after her shift so she could be there when the surgery was over to come and tell me everything went great.
She immediately called me when she saw someone visiting him that seemed out of place and helped me set up a security code for him so nobody could see him without getting the code from me. He was hurt at work, and nobody witnessed it, I didn't want work employees in seeing him until he could defend himself.
When T went into crisis with a temp of 106.7, she immediately got help into him, icing him down and lowering his temp.
When he needed a CT during crisis, she requested nurses and doctors there for transit.
She again stayed 4-5 hours after her shift was over on the day of his crisis to make sure he was stable and, to top it all off.....shaved him. When I got to the hospital the next day after a horrific day, he looked clean and shaved.
Everything she does, she does with loving care. Once when another nurse came into the room and asked how she could help, she replied give T a hug, she needs one desperately.

I cannot stress enough how incredible she is, and I wanted to share this with you. If you are not the correct person to get this note please forward to the correct person.
I am very thankful to have Sherry as part of the team taking care of T, and I wish there were more nurses out there like her. It is a thankless profession. She deserves the recognition.
