She has such a big love for our veterans and I feel the sense of heartache she honestly has for the ones that can be a challenge or the ones trying to accept an impending decline they may be facing.
Sherry has been here just a short time but she has proved herself to be an exceptional nurse. She works well with others always there for her team when she is needed. Our veterans admire her as she has a loving and positive demeanor.

This nurse came to VA as a COVID hire during the height of the pandemic. She consistently goes above and beyond to assist veterans and staff. She is always ready to help in any way she can. I am so grateful that her initial reaction is not what cannot be done but what she can do! She will contact veterans and schedule them to follow up with her as the need arises. She has worked a sometimes double and triple booked schedule to ensure the veteran needs are met- and this all while working as a temporary hire! Now as a permanent employee her great attitude and work ethic continues to be one that embodies the VA ICARE principles. We are glad to have her on our team!

Sherry has been a huge blessing to our clinic. She works very hard everyday to give each individual veteran her complete attention. She is definitely a worker bee for our clinic. No matter what the situation or how crazy the day has been she will manage to give a supportive smile chuckle and just radiate her great attitude. She takes so much in stride and that has been an infectious trait in this busy and crazy world of today's healthcare field. She is a great listener and keeps a realistic level of any situation. She is definitely someone who makes work not so much work. She is ALWAYS lending a hand and ready to help veterans or coworkers when needed. She's always volunteering to help and sometimes just steps up to do whatever is needed without anyone asking her. I could keep going on about Sherry and her wonderful performance as a nurse/coworker but honestly, her sense of generosity kindness and the love of what nursing is to her is hard to describe in words alone but definitely shines bright; maybe that is why she really wears her shiny sunglasses. She has such a big love for our veterans and I feel the sense of heartache she honestly has for the ones that can be a challenge or the ones trying to accept an impending decline they may be facing. She's a reminder that compassion does prevail. Our veterans deserve that honor from us all and Sherry is a great example of always going above and beyond to help. She's very dedicated appreciated and I am blessed to know and work with her here at the Fort Polk VA CBOC.
