Sherry takes the time needed to make each patient feel as if they are her only charge and ensures that every question or concern is heard and answered. I have seen her sitting across from a patient who was having a bad day and listening to each word she was saying with respect and dignity.
Sherry Brady exemplifies an excellent nurse in circumstances that would be a challenge to others in the field. I have had the honor to be her patient almost once a week for the last three years. During that time, she never overlooked any detail that was a contributing factor in my care. As a cancer patient, even a smile given as they call your name to enter the infusion center can mean the difference between a good day and just another treatment day. Sherry takes the time needed to make each patient feel as if they are her only charge and ensures that every question or concern is heard and answered. I have seen her sitting across from a patient who was having a bad day and listening to each word she was saying with respect and dignity. She held her hand and gave her the undivided attention she needed. Sherry remembers things you have discussed with her and inquires about the things she knows are important to you like family members, etc. During a rough season I went through earlier this year, she shared resources that my wife could obtain that would ease the burden of my care for her. There are times when you sit in the waiting room of the infusion center, and you have a bit of hesitation about who will be giving you treatment that day. As each nurse comes through the door, you take a moment to hold your breath. It was always a joy to see Sherry come through, and it was a delight to hear her call my name. It is obvious from her interactions with the other staff members that she is respected and can be counted on to help if needed in the care of other patients. I have shared with the doctor about her professionalism and the compassion she has for those of us who have been dealt a difficult hand.
