It felt like a true collaboration, and everyone was on the same team to support my baby and me. I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate her professionalism and kindness at such an important and vulnerable time for my family.
I recently gave birth at St. Mark's Hospital, and I want to share my experience. This was my first child, so I didn’t know what to expect for my hospital experience. I have to say the care and support I received from the hospital staff far exceeded my expectations and contributed to my first birth being an exceptionally positive one. From the nursing staff to the doctors to the custodial staff, I felt respected, listened to, and well cared for. I was most impressed with the emphasis on consent at every level of care. I especially want to commend Labor and Delivery night nurse, Sierra.
Sierra cared for me for two nights in a row. I went in for an induction on a Tuesday night and gave birth in the early hours of Thursday morning. Sierra was excellent to work with. She explained each task she was performing and made sure to get consent prior to starting the procedure. She had a calm, competent, and encouraging demeanor in the room. I appreciated how open she was to feedback and was great at listening to suggestions from my support persons. I cannot stress enough how appreciative I am to the staff that took care of my baby and me. I had an overwhelmingly positive experience at St. Mark's and will absolutely return when the time comes to grow my family.

Sierra was an amazing and kind nurse who went above and beyond to help and guide us through our first labor. She was very fast to help me with any pain or service I needed. I'm very lucky to have her assigned to me because I was really scared going through labor and delivery. She was constantly positive and funny. Even had my husband and sister calm and excited. Sierra was really gentle with us. She explained and answered all the questions we had. She also took the time to help us understand all the machinery so we could know what was going on. The amazing and loving part of it all was after I gave birth and my mom arrived, Sierra immediately recognized her! My mom gave birth 3 months ago and was also helped by Sierra. We didn't know, but it made sense why my mom had an amazing birth experience, too. Sierra was her nurse as well! How amazing to hear she helped deliver a nephew and uncle within 3 months and had both mothers leaving happy! We all love and appreciate her. If I could have her there for all my other pregnancies, I would! Thank you so much, Sierra, for helping make our day so beautiful. I wish we would have gotten a picture with her, with both babies, my little brother and my baby. We will cherish her forever.
