I just wanted to take a few minutes of your time to brag on one of your amazing nurses. I’ve delivered at Woman’s Hospital four times and all of my L&D nurses have been great…but it’s rare to land a unicorn like Simi on your first go around. 8 years ago I had the absolute pleasure of having Simi assigned to me when I delivered our first baby. We had an instant connection. Her confidence and sweet nature stole the show, and I was so thankful God had put her in my life on such a special day. We became fast friends and stayed in touch ever since.

In 2021, at a routine 18-week pregnancy appt, My husband and I found out that our baby boy no longer had a heartbeat. We had a D&E completed. During that time, Simi reached out to me with compassion and empathy. Her words were exactly what I needed during such a difficult, confusing, and impossible circumstance.

A year later, we delivered our rainbow baby. Simi came in early before her shifts to check in on us and meet/hold our baby during our hospital stay. Those moments were so sweet and stand out so positively in our minds because she went above and beyond to show us she truly cares about us and our family.

Just a month ago, we delivered our last baby via planned induction. Guess what, Simi made sure to be there for us, even when it meant coming in on day shift to do it! But here’s the thing…she wasn’t just there during the day, she checked in with us through the night to see how we were doing. How thoughtful is that? As soon as Simi walked through the door the morning of our delivery, I instantly felt calm and had complete confidence, knowing the best of the best had arrived. I knew I could turn my brain off of all the worries and just focus on having a baby, and she’d take care of the rest. There are no words to describe the feeling of knowing a nurse of her caliber was in my corner.

I’m so thankful God put Simi in our lives to help deliver our first and now our last baby, the “book ends” of our family, and for all the times she’s been there for us in between. Simi’s compassionate care, expert knowledge, and genuine commitment to her patients are just a few of the things we love about her. She is a true gem!
