I was in the hospital for seven days and most of the time I had Sinval as my nurse. He was absolutely the best. He has so much personality that would help in cheering me up. He was also extremely attentive. I never had to buzz him because he was always right on schedule and every time I was due for any of my medications, I missed his presence so much when he was off. He is so deserving of this award and I'm so appreciative to have had him as my nurse. Every time he made me laugh and made my stay so pleasant. He is the best nurse!

I had the privilege of experiencing Sinval's nursing skill while at UCLA Orthopedic Hospital 4 days. I had been hit by a car as I was walking on the sidewalk. Many good nurses helped as I discovered the effects of trauma and broken legs. Several evenings as the PM shift was starting, I observed the head nurse Sinval De Paula at the center of his coworkers. He inspired freely with joy and open hearted positivity, uplifting and he gave his patients that kind of care too. It will be months before I can stand on my own two feet, even so Sinval De Paula has given me something I can use now and for the rest of my life. By his model of excellence with the body and clear motivated approach to nursing, I have learned how deep a nurse can be there for the patient.
