I would like to nominate Sonna for the DAISY Award for the exceptional care and compassion she showed during my uncle’s hospital stay. Sonna went above and beyond to support not only my uncle but also our entire family during a very emotional time. Sonna was incredibly comforting and took the time to have multiple heartfelt conversations with our family, especially with my uncle's daughter, who was struggling to accept his decisions. She patiently explained everything that was happening and reassured his daughter, telling her how heroic it was for my uncle to make such a difficult decision, sparing her from having to carry that burden. Her words provided much-needed comfort and understanding during a time of uncertainty.

Sonna also brought moments of joy and light into my uncle’s room. She would reminisce about the days when they worked together, making my uncle laugh and smile, which meant so much to all of us. Her kindness and empathy were unmatched—she hugged and cried with us, sharing in our grief and offering unwavering support in every way she could. Sonna’s extraordinary care, compassion, and ability to connect with both patients and families truly embody what it means to be an exceptional nurse. She made a profound impact on our family, and we are forever grateful for her kindness during this difficult time.
