Stacey honestly and truly models an exemplary and compassionate nurse. She frequently provides primary care to some of our most critical babies in the NICU. Our families absolutely love her. Stacey recently lost two patients that she took primary care of. She made sure that she was available for both of the families to show her love and support during their most difficult time. Stacey was in staffing during her first patient's passing and although she was not providing direct patient care to the baby that day, she made sure that she was available to have time to do bereavement care with the family and offer her support during her shift. Stacey attended that baby's funeral and then learned that her second primary baby had passed on that same day. After the funeral services, Stacey came back to the unit on her day off to do bereavement care and offer support to her second patient that passed. The strength, love and compassion that Stacey demonstrated not only on this day but every day that she cares for her patients and families makes her more than deserving of the DAISY Award.
