I am an employee at Piedmont Hospital. A family member of mine was admitted to ICU Blue with life threatening conditions. During the early morning hours, I was summoned back to the hospital because my family member's conditions had started to deteriorate. His attending nurse was Stacy Cox RN, BSN who was a perfect example of the "Piedmont Promise". Stacy went above and beyond her duties to make my family member, as well as myself, as comfortable as possible. She took time to explain to me and other family members in great detail what was medically happening with our family member and what we should brace ourselves for during that uncertain period of time. Even after our family member expired later that afternoon, Stacy stayed and prayed with us. She did all that she could have done under those conditions.
As a Piedmont employee, I know how important it is to practice the "Piedmont Promise", but being on the receiving side and having someone as professional and loving as Stacy caring for my family member in his last hours has helped ease the pain. Stacy, on behalf of our family we would like to say "Thank You" for your love and professionalism. May God continue to bless you and the Piedmont family.
