Nurse Starla Windsor had a patient with a gangrenous colycystitis who had multiple surgeries during his stay at WellStar Cobb. This patient was in excruciating pain and Nurse Starla assisted him to become more comfortable. The patient's wife had been in a Motor Vehicle accident and suffered memory loss as a result. Nurse Starla ensured that she wrote down what happened every-day to assist the patient's wife remember what happened, how we were providing care for her husband and his condition. The family spoke very highly of nurse Starla. Nurse Starla also took the time on her days off from work to follow-up with the patient after he was discharged and even went to visit him while he was in the Acute Rehabilitation center at another facility.

I am pleased to say that the patient is doing much better now. Starla is an amazing nurse and I am delighted to be working with a nurse with such a great character. She truly deserves this DAISY Award.
