Our recent Joint Commission visit resulted in a great need to expedite the implementation of our new telemetry and Interfacility Transport Guidelines. This is a huge body of work in a short amount of time, something that takes a large team approach, as one person cannot effectively successfully implement it alone. Many stakeholders were brought in. Steph was included to help in securing cardiac-competent FP RN coverage to perform the role of ACLS Transport RN. However, she did not only perform the minimum that was asked of her.

Steph fully immersed herself in this important work and went above and beyond to accomplish even more. Steph created logs and instructional tip sheets, gathered and calculated metrics, and helped break down gaps and barriers in this role along the way. This was a lot of work for Steph. Yet, she continued to ask “How can I help?” with a calming presence and big smile. Throughout this work, Steph has role-modeled our values of kindness, collaboration, and excellence. She has exemplified our mission of partnering. She has demonstrated true leadership through engagement, ownership, and empowering and influencing others.

While we were already in the process of hiring into this new role, we could not have gotten this new role off the ground in such a timely and effective manner without Steph. We are all so appreciative of her leadership!
