I felt so comfortable with Stephanie that, at one point, as she held onto me while I washed my hands, I felt I could rest my head on her shoulder.
I was admitted to the hospital, and from the moment I entered the ER, I was treated with respect. All my rights were explained to me, and every procedure or exam was thoroughly outlined. Despite being in extreme pain, every doctor, nurse, billing person, and so on, provided detailed explanations. On my first night, a young nurse introduced herself as Stephanie. She informed me that if I needed anything, I could simply ring the call bell, and she would be right there. While many nurses say that, Stephanie proved herself true; she not only came when I called but also periodically checked in to ensure my comfort, assisted me with using the restroom, ensured I washed my hands, and monitored my pain levels. When I expressed my discomfort and she couldn't administer further medication, she provided heating pads for relief. I felt so comfortable with Stephanie that, at one point, as she held onto me while I washed my hands, I felt I could rest my head on her shoulder. I thank God for her and the compassion and empathy she showed. I truly appreciate Stephanie and know from the bottom of my heart that she is a great asset to this hospital. I pray that she receives the recognition she deserves. My little essay may not be enough; however, I am forever grateful for Stephanie. She is human, just like the rest of us, yet she came in on the days I was there and made sure to do her job to the fullest capacity, even going above and beyond. I am eternally thankful and pray she remains the caring, compassionate, and empathetic individual she is. My experience could have been different without Stephanie's care, but I’m grateful that God placed her there on those days.
