I am currently still in the hospital, but I had to take a moment to recognize an outstanding nurse. A little background about me, I am from here originally, but I have lived in Missouri for the past 6 years. I have Lupus and am having a heart scare. My husband and children are in Missouri still, so I haven't had many visitors.
Now to this nurse aka "incredible mama". Stephanie impressed me the moment that she walked into my room. You can just feel the difference when a nurse truly cares. I could instantly tell that my needs were her priority. I am and was receiving Heparin through my IV. I had an IV in my shoulder that I had complained about twice it twice. When others assured me it was okay. I let it go. Stephanie noticed my IV without me even saying anything. Stephanie immediately realized that it was not working, resulting in me not getting my pain or other medications. Stephanie was so quick to get her supplies and move it for me. It made me feel so much better.
In addition, Stephanie just remained so attentive to my needs. Stephanie goes over and beyond in her care. I love her because she even focuses on my emotional needs. Stephanie is quick to make me smile and feel better even though I have had quite the time pain wise.
Stephanie is the type of nurse who is making a huge difference in your hospital. What may seem like 'her job responsibilities', Stephanie does with a smile, and she does whatever is needed at all times. I am so impressed by her work ethic.
