My husband went into surgery for a cardiac procedure. Every single member of staff we encountered (and there were many) was wonderfully helpful and competent. We especially want to recognize Stephen, the RN responsible for my husband's discharge from recovery. When Stephen brought him in the wheelchair down to the curb, I had to tell him that our car would not start. The battery was inexplicably dead. Stephen dutifully delivered my husband to the curb and went back into the hospital. Some minutes later, as we dithered at the car, phoning my sister with jumper cables, who should appear on a red motor scooter? Stephen! He said he lives nearby and had a jump starter battery; would we like them? We did! Stephen returned in 8 minutes. With his jump-start batteries and help, we started the car! What a kind, helpful person! After a full shift helping patients' bodies, he was healing their car!
