It was dinner time on Friday evening and my mom had to use the bathroom. She gets confused so my wife stayed in the room with her and my dad and I stood outside the room while we waited for the nurse. My dad and I noticed it must be time for shift change because we saw nurses coming in and going into an employee room but there were no nurses in the hallway. After quite a while we noticed a lady walking down the hall with her coat on and a bunch of other stuff like a purse and a backpack. She had her winter wear on and turned to go to the elevator, but then stepped back and asked me and my dad if we were being helped since our call light was on. We told the nurse we were just waiting while my mom went to the bathroom. The nurse looked up at the light and said is there a nurse in there and we told her no. This lady sat down all of her stuff. She had Tupperware, her bags, her coat and scarf and she went into the room to help my mom. After she went in another nurse came in a little while later. They had got mom on the toilet and we could hear the nurse joking with mom. When she was done the nurse came out, put on her coat and picked up all of her stuff. She wished us a good night and left.
We asked the other nurse who that lady was, and she told us she was "Sue the wound nurse". We could tell she was a special lady. She could have just kept walking. We didn't ask her to stop. And she never acted put out or anything. She just went in my mom's room and acted like she had known her forever.
