Sulay is such an exceptional team member of our NICU. In her short time here she has shown leadership skills, compassion, and teamwork to name a few. She cares for our NICU patients like they were her own. She takes her time to explain and demonstrate feeding and swaddling techniques to the parents. In times of sorrow, she is there to stand by the parents and be the strength they need when their child passes away. From saying comforting words to just physically being there in silence if that's what they need. From when I was a new nurse to this day, she always asks me if need any help today. When I was alone in NeoA and during my first admission, she helped me with my admission with regards to getting an IV, setting up my line and helping me with documenting the admission. She is always willing to help her coworkers whether it's getting an IV or feeding a patient. As a preceptor, she has the patience to teach the nurse step by step the rules and policies of the unit. She repeats and demonstrates techniques until her student fully understands and can demonstrate back. Her personality makes her approachable and supportive making her a gem in our NICU.
