Her wisdom, compassion, and leadership have set a standard I aspire to in my own nursing practice. One particular instance left me awestruck and in tears. A bedbound patient with a cervical fracture had a distraught family at his bedside. Susan not only provided meticulous care to his wound and consulted with the attending and surgical team but also took the time to explain her observations and their implications for his progress in a clear and honest manner with the family. She went above and beyond by identifying a broken Miami-J cervical collar and arranging for a replacement. Her comprehensive approach and confident communication reassured the family, making them feel their father was in the best hands. Witnessing Susan's dedication and skill was a profound experience and recounting it still moves me deeply.
