Susanna is a great nurse. She treats all patients with the kindness, respect, and dignity they deserve. She goes out of her way to help others; that includes patients, their families, and co-workers. She always goes above and beyond to make sure the patients are safe, comfortable, and receiving the best care possible. She has great leadership skills and always makes sure her job gets done and she does it with a smile. She is the most patient, caring, nice, compassionate, hardworking RN I have ever had the pleasure of working with. We need more like her!
Susanna is always professional regardless of what role she has for the day. Whether she is a nurse on the floor or a charge nurse for the shift, she always maintains trust and confidence with those she engages with. Always professional. Susanna's care for her patients is the definition of compassion. She takes the time to treat others like they are her own family. During an NG tube insertion, when she was the charge nurse, she spent an hour with the patient. She ensured that the procedure went well, and the patient tolerated the procedure well. She always asks me to teach her words in Spanish to be able to better communicate with her patients. Even when everything is hectic, Susanna always finds a way to put her patients first.
Susanna advocates for her patients. I've seen her calling doctors on the phone when something isn't right. Even if a patient doesn't understand or has questions, she breaks everything down to them so they can understand. She's altruistic. She is always helping other nurses while they are busy. She helps the nursing attendants give showers or take vital signs for the next shift. She is always willing to help and always answer questions to help you understand. She is a mentor to other nurses and new hires. She is always willing to help. She never says 'No' and really cares about people she works with. She always has other's well-being in mind without thinking about herself. She helps others without thought of compensation or reward. She exhibits autonomy. She makes decisions and acts accordingly.
Susanna knows so much about spinal cord injury. She is able to identify problems in patients before other nurses because of her knowledge. When it comes to dressing changes, she is the best and always communicates with her patients. No matter if you are a nursing attendant, RN, LVN, or custodian, Susanna treats everyone with respect. She makes you feel like you are part of the team. Susanna is excellent; she isn't afraid of getting her hands in work. She helps put patients back to bed and always wants the best for her patients. She is a great nurse. Her years of being at Rancho, her willingness to help staff, and takes roles, make her a problem-solver and if you need help, she will be there.
Susanna has demonstrated excellent leadership on a daily basis. She is always taking the role of charge nurse and is always available to help her fellow co-workers with anything they need. She is knowledgeable about a lot of aspects of the unit. She is always looking for ways to improve our work habits. She pays close attention to patient needs and is there for any questions or concerns that they may have. She is an excellent IV nurse and is always willing to improve or become more informed on anything she may not know. She is someone that staff and patients can depend on.
