Sutton took amazing care of my young, adult son when we visited the ER. He was professional and courteous, introduced himself, and made a very lasting impression on us. My son was apprehensive about getting an IV and asked Sutton if he could hold off on getting it done until they for sure needed it. Sutton demonstrated empathy and compassion, allowing my son the autonomy he needed in that moment and doing so in a caring demeanor. He made sure to keep us informed and checked in with us. Later, when we were being discharged, Sutton listened to our concerns and advocated for my son by taking our concerns to the provider and getting clarification. He came back and talked about things with my son, answering his questions and explaining things in a way that exceeded expectations. My son left the ER with a positive experience, specifically because of Sutton. We want to make sure he is recognized for his compassion and knows how thankful we are for healthcare professionals like him who really connect and care, who listen and advocate for their patients.
