I have known Suzanna for approximately 21 years and have observed her in different interactions with patients and their families. She assisted in the care of my son many years ago when he was an inpatient sick with pneumonia. I observed her about a year ago working in the coordination of a code on a young man that lasted several hours. I observed her recently when my mother was a patient in the ER and Suzanna was not the nurse assigned to that room but was taking time to make sure that everything was done correctly. She attended Camp Bluebird and participated as a camp counselor providing one on one care with cancer survivors. In all of these interactions, Suzanna has consistently displayed compassion, patience and empathy. She does not become frazzled nor lose her composure in even the worst situations. She is a highly skilled nurse and seeks out opportunities to increase her clinical knowledge. Her primary focus has always been and continues to be the patient and making sure they receive excellent care.

Suzanne has provided nursing care to me personally but I have worked with her for quite a number of years and I consider her a terrific nurse. She is a very sweet and caring person and she is always the same every time you see her. I feel she deserves some special recognition for all the years of service to this community that she has provided.

I would like for you to know what professional, caring, and spectacular service we received from the McDowell Hospital Emergency Department The process for psychiatric commitments is not an easy one by far, however for there to be multiple ones in the Emergency Department along with other patients is quite an undertaking. Suzanna's help and expertise allowed us to hospitalize our child in an expedited manner and start to get the services he needs. This being said, I would like to nominate Suzanna for above and beyond service. I have the fondest regard for the Emergency Department staff.
