With this nominating letter, we wish to recognize Suzanne Harrison for her compassionate care and exemplary service as a nurse. Suzanne is such a positive role model for all members of the interdisciplinary team. Her professionalism, resourcefulness, excellent nursing skills, problem solving capabilities, cheerfulness, dependability and integrity is demonstrated in all she does for her patients, their families and peers. Suzanne is always recognizing others for their accomplishments and good deeds, while Suzanne herself is consistently an ambassador of goodwill to all her patients and associates.

Suzanne quite often makes such a positive difference in her patients' hospital stay as she so skillfully addresses both their physical and psycho-social needs. In way of example, Suzanne was caring for one of our patients, who was so discouraged, since her stay was extended beyond what she expected for need of further treatment. Suzanne discovered that the patient loved to do word searches, and in Suzanne's resourcefulness, she had several word searches that matched the patient's interests downloaded from the internet. This act of caring made such a difference in this patient's hospital stay, as was so evident in the patient's change in demeanor and expressions of gratitude.

In all her actions, we have noticed that Suzanne will always go the extra mile to help her patients and their families have thanked Suzanne for providing such excellent care. Therefore, with ultimate respect for Suzanne as a skilled, extraordinary nurse and for her greatest ability to brighten everyone's day, we enthusiastically nominate her for the DAISY Award.
