Nurse Sydney was amazing during my stay at Scottish Rite. I was lucky enough to have her for two days while recovering from my spinal fusion surgery. She was my nurse from the moment I woke up, and I couldn't have asked for anyone better to wake up to. She was always there with jokes and a smile, all while organizing my wires- constantly. I have never had a more organized “bedroom” ever. Nurse Sydney was so comforting just by being present. I knew everything was going to be okay simply because she was there. I truly believe God placed her as my nurse for a reason. She radiated such positivity and encouragement that I knew I was in great hands. I am deeply grateful to Nurse Sydney and all the nurses at Scottish Rite.
I feel like my Mom said it best every time she remarked, “Thank you, Sydney. " She worked hard between her patients, making me feel like I was her only one, with her number one priority being to help me get better. She was unbelievable. Hearing her story about working her way up to be a nurse at Scottish Rite is inspiring. You can really tell she is honored to work at the hospital and finds it to be a privilege. She took excellent care of me.
Thank you. Thank you for loving me like one of your own during my time in the hospital. And that she is my bestie. Forever.

We were blessed to have Sydney as one of our daughter’s nurses after her spinal fusion surgery. When we were finally able to see our daughter after surgery, Sydney was the nurse with her. It is hard for a mom to see her sweet girl after surgery, but Sydney brought a calmness to the room and to my heart. She instantly made me feel better and provided comfort to my worried self. We had Sydney as our nurse for two days, and we are so very thankful that God allowed her to be with us during that time. She was so encouraging, attentive, and simply wonderful to be around. My daughter adored her and could tell that Sydney truly cared for her and wanted to help as much as she could. Sydney always had a smile and a joke when she came into the room. As a family, we enjoyed her company! We also appreciated her attention to detail with my daughter's wires and how her bed needed to be made up every time she left. Every nurse and staff member we encountered at Scottish Rite is simply amazing, but Sydney won our hearts!
If you have Sydney as your nurse, you are blessed! Her knowledge, warmth, happiness, and smile can calm even the most worried heart and mind! She was incredibly encouraging to my daughter during her healing process. She reminded her how well she was doing, how the healing process works, and, of course, taught her about ordering room service.
