I had just transferred from ICU to the vascular floor. We were lucky to have an amazing nurse named Sydni Fryer who got things under control and helped us understand all that was going on and what would happen. She explained the nose tube and how the meds would work. I was overwhelmed and anxious about all of this, and Sydni helped me stay calm and understand what would happen during my first few days. She explained things to me, helped me understand, and also helped me see that everything would be okay. Sydni was great at keeping things going and us informed on any plans, tests, or information we needed. She was respectful to our religious prayers when she happened to come into the room during one. When I needed someone in my corner, Sydni told me that I could do this and that I would be okay! You have no idea how much that helped me. Being 6 hours away from family, having someone in your corner was just an amazing feeling! Sydni was the best nurse for us during this time, which was very difficult for us. She was professional, caring, understanding, and just so incredibly helpful that I will forever be grateful to her and the care she gave me during this difficult time.
