It is difficult to describe Tabatha's commitment, compassion, critical thinking skills and ability to excel as an outstanding role model in only one situation. Tab consistently has a positive attitude. When she was completing her RN, she continued to work full-time and attend clinical practicums full-time from August through May. She literally worked seven days per week with the exception of a break for Christmas. Her attitude never wavered, nor did her work ethics change during this time.
Tab has excellent critical thinking skills. When the Emergency Department becomes inundated with patients, she is able to calmly prioritize and faces any situation that presents itself; even the most difficult. Even during stressful and extremely busy times, she provides excellent nursing care to each patient and without a hurried expression. She is also an excellent mentor/preceptor to students and new employees in the Emergency Department due to her patience and positive attitude.
Tab is an asset to the Emergency Department staff. She continues to always think of her co-workers first. "Try sending her to lunch first'! She is a professional, mature, caring and excellent nurse, both inside and out. It is for these reasons; I would like to nominate Tabatha Keyser, RN as our first DAISY Award honoree at Page Memorial Hospital.
