If first impressions are lasting, then many of our OR patients have positive memories of Kaiser Richmond if they were fortunate enough to have Tairat Asuni as their pre-op nurse. Immediately one will notice Tairat's infectious smile and laugh which puts patients at ease who are typically nervous about having surgery. Her warmth and high positive energy are felt by patients and staff alike. She sincerely cares about the patients well being and goes out of the way for those in her charge while balancing respect with a delightful sense of humor.
Tairat is knowledgeable and takes the initiative to research topics that are unfamiliar. She then shares this new information with coworkers. She sincerely cares about the process of the unit. For these reasons, her coworkers see her as a valuable resource. Tairat is a hard worker who often places other staff first for breaks, as she goes to lunch after everyone else has eaten, even if she has been at work for a longer period of time. She always asks if anyone needs help and is quick to lend a hand. She is flexible and willing to work overtime if the unit needs her. Tairat is a delight to work with and is a role model for nurses. Of course, she will deny these claims because she is humble, but this quality makes me like her all the more.
