She wasn’t just my nurse that night, she was my angel.
I lost my baby at 14 weeks to Turner’s Syndrome. It was heartbreaking. I was terrified that the process of an induced miscarriage would be traumatizing.
Takeira was my nurse through the whole induction. She listened to my fears, she held my hand during panic attacks as I feared what was coming, she validated my feelings, she caught my baby for me, and in the end, she rubbed my shoulder after handing my my 14-week old baby to hold for the very first and last time. I have had many a nurse care for me in my life, and as a healthcare provider myself, I have NEVER witnessed or received better care than I did that night. She wasn’t just my nurse that night, she was my angel.
I joked that she deserved a DAISY Award right after receiving my epidural, and she said, “that must be the epidural talking”…but what she didn’t know is she truly is the most worthy recipient of a DAISY Award that I’ve ever met.
Thank you, again, for everything!
