Our son stayed in the NICU for about 20 days. Life wasn't easy going back and forth from home to NICU visiting our preemie baby every day. But our nurse, Tami, gives us a sense of comfort and we know our baby's second "mom" is taking care of him. When Tami works with him, I know that he will receive outstanding care along with his other roommates in the pod. The journey in the NICU has been great for our family due to many outstanding nurses at Women's Hospital, especially Tami. She proves that passion in nursing does exist. We don't want her actions and the outstanding care she provides to not only our preemie but to us as parents go unnoticed. Tami puts our minds at ease as we have to head home to take care of our other children. She also provides updates to us thoroughly and her smile is contagious. Our 32 weeker isn't the only baby she has to take care of in our pod, but when we show up she gives us comfort by thoroughly updating us with the rounds that we missed. As an anxious mother, I trust her words more than the provider because she speaks the common language that I can understand regarding our son's progress. We hope that any NICU mothers and fathers like us will receive exceptional care from nurses like Tami. Thank you for letting us share our experiences.
