It is with great pleasure that I nominate Ms. Tammi Brown for the prestigious DAISY Nurse Leader Award. I have the distinct privilege of serving under the exceptional leadership of the first nurse to ever serve as ECRH’s Regional Hospital Administrator. As the ECRH RHA, Ms. Brown has over 30 years of nursing experience and has worked in a variety of specialties, including mental health, public health, cardiology, and clinical informatics. Ms. Brown exemplifies the core values that every good leader must possess. She combines her qualities as a seasoned nurse and her experience as a leader to propel East Central to the next level. She not only has made history at ECRH (as the first nurse to serve as the facility’s RHA) but also joins a very elite group of legendary nurse leaders who have broken glass ceilings in healthcare and have led hospitals and organizations across the country. Ms. Brown embodies the 5 Core Values that all Great Leaders share. She is an Empathetic, Compassionate, Honest, and Loyal leader who has earned the admiration and respect of her team by demonstrating genuine values that show people she cares, understands, and is always willing to help. Ms. Brown inspires and empowers her team to be innovative and creative as we continuously work to improve the quality and safety of care of the individuals we serve. Since she arrived at ECRH, she has fostered an environment where attributes of trust, compassion, respect, professional development, and ethical behavior are modeled and supported. She maintains an open-door policy, making herself accessible, available, and responsive to the needs of her team. Ms. Brown is a compassionate professional who is the epitome of a nurse leader and very well deserving of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
