My 87-year-old father was a COVID-19 patient. Quite coincidently my daughter was in the room across the hall from her grandfather. T was admitted two days before my father. Both were released on the same day. While it was quite a week for our family, we know other families were not fortunate enough to have their loved ones come home. We are so grateful our family did come home.

I was feeling rather helpless at home. I made it a point to not call the nurses' station too much, as I know nurses need time to care for patients. I did call daily and sometimes twice - once in the morning and once in the evening. Then one day I spoke with Nurse Tara. She was wonderful! She took the time on the phone with me to discuss my father and my daughter. She worked diligently to resolve an IV issue with my daughter. Tara truly cares about her patients and about the family of her patients. She understands what it is like for the daughter/mother of a patient to not be by the side of their loved one at such a scary, critical time.
