I've recently found myself in some challenging health concerns. Cancer, surgeries, and tests have had me late for work several times and ultimately out of work. My employer didn't respond favorably to my late days and absences. I was told I had to submit paperwork to insurance so this time off wouldn't be held against me. I filled out my part, but the rest had to be filled out by a health provider. This was right before Christmas, and I wondered if doctors would be available. So, I was filled with anxiety and only hoping I could find someone to understand and help me with this issue. That's when this nurse stepped in. I went to the front desk of Oncology, and they told me I would probably need an appointment. I told them I had no time for that. I asked to speak to someone that could help, and out came this nurse. I was frantic with symptoms from a serious infection. She calmly took my paperwork and said she would take care of it. The doctor filled out his part, and it was faxed away. The following day, I was informed by the insurance company that they were not complete. I asked them to fax them back to this nurse, which they did. I called her and she had received the returned fax. She completed the forms, filled in the blanks, and faxed it all back. The insurance company assured me that everything was corrected and completed.
