I truly believe that without Tara’s advocacy, my mom’s health could have spiraled downward. I will never forget her words when I shared the severity of the situation, telling her that if things didn’t change, my mom would die there. She simply said, “That makes my heart hurt.”
I am writing to nominate Tara Claiborne for her exceptional dedication and care. I had the privilege of meeting Tara when my son was admitted to the hospital after suffering anaphylactic shock. From the moment she checked on him, it was clear that she was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also genuinely compassionate. She took the time to ask both me and my son about our stay and the care we were receiving, making us feel heard and supported.
During this conversation, I mentioned that my mother was also hospitalized on another floor. Although I didn’t go into detail at the time, Tara’s kindness and attentiveness were evident. Later, after my husband arrived and I had the chance to visit my mom, I happened to run into Tara in the elevator. Despite being on her way to another duty, she asked me how my mother was doing. I shared my deep frustration with my mom’s mismanaged care, and this is where Tara went above and beyond.
She listened with empathy and immediately took action. Tara made countless phone calls, followed up on every concern, and ensured that things began to move in the right direction for my mom’s care. She even gave me her personal contact information, encouraging me to reach out if I needed anything further. Her willingness to step in and advocate for my mom, despite already having a full plate with her other responsibilities, was truly remarkable.
A pivotal moment for me was when my son was discharged and I returned to my mom’s room, only to find another issue. Frustrated, I called Tara, and once again, she responded immediately, working to resolve the problem. Thanks to her relentless efforts, my mom’s care improved significantly. I am now able to be a daughter at my mother’s bedside, rather than feeling like I need to be her nurse.

I will never forget her words when I shared the severity of the situation, telling her that if things didn’t change, my mom would die there. She simply said, “That makes my heart hurt.” Tara understood the gravity of the situation and took it upon herself to make sure my mom received the care she needed to survive.
I am forever grateful for Tara’s commitment, and I know that her dedication saved my mom’s life. Tara is an outstanding nurse and a true advocate for her patients. She exemplifies what it means to go above and beyond in her role, and I wholeheartedly recommend her for this nomination.
