Tara always had a smile on her face. She was extremely caring, patient, and compassionate. I had the privilege of having Tara as my night shift nurse for 3 nights, and she was always on top of the game. She took the time to explain things to me and my husband. She showed my husband how to care for me and allowed him to practice under her supervision, so he would know what to do when we got to go home. Each evening she would come in to say hello, and each morning, she was sure to let us know when she would be leaving, and we would look forward to her return the next evening.
Tara always took the time to listen to our concerns/requests, and when we had any problems (with meds or eating issues), she even offered alternative suggestions for me to try. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The biggest impression she made though, was when she said goodbye for the last time before I was discharged. She made me feel so loved when she let me know that she would not be there on my last night, but that she enjoyed getting to be my nurse after my jaw surgery. Then she wished me the best and gave me a genuine, caring hug. She was an awesome nurse and deserves to be recognized for her outstanding work.
