For many reasons, Tara Hayes is an extraordinary nurse. Step by step, she explained to me what she was doing along with the rationale. I told her I was a mental health nurse and knew very little about cardiology. I was deeply concerned that I might have had a heart attack but to my great belief, she reassured me I did not have a heart attack.
Tara taught me a lot about various reasons for elevated cardiac enzymes. By encouraging me to walk the halls, she helped me feel physically and mentally better. She shared awareness of the purposes of my many meds and was never late in their administration. I grew to respect her ability to establish priorities. She was unassuming and never condescending. She spoke with a lovely smile and I felt like participating in my care plan.
