I just wanted to take a minute to tell you about my experience. I had a baby. I was treated so well and the experience with the doctors, nurses, and PCTs was amazing. It was our first child so the worry and concern that everything would run smoothly were placed at ease by the pre-op nurses and staff. The nurses were attentive and so helpful in answering all questions. The surgical staff who delivered my little one was awesome. I cannot compliment the staff enough on the level of care they gave after my child was born. The Nurse Manager came in every day to check on us and how our experience was going which meant so much to my family and me. The nurses were so knowledgeable in taking time to teach me nursing techniques as a new mom. Their presence, patience, and knowledge set my mind at ease and instilled confidence in my care for my daughter. It truly was an awesome experience giving birth at your facility and I wanted to make sure I was able to tell you all how wonderful it truly was.
Additionally, I want to recognize Terri for her complete expertise on all levels. My husband was with her when our baby was being weighed in the nursery one early morning around 1:30 am and our daughter spit up causing her to have difficulty breathing (which we learned was common in C-section babies) as she was in respiratory distress. She immediately went into action. Without missing a beat she called for assistance and started suctioning and stimulating our daughter to get her to cough up the rest of the mucus. Most importantly she remained calm, cool collected and kept my husband calm. Her quick thinking helped in what was a frightening experience for my husband to be calm and at ease. Also, she provided support, patience, and knowledge about breastfeeding as I struggled with immediate success getting my daughter to successfully latch. This was an emotional and frustrating time for myself and my husband and she was as gracious with her time as she was in our room in less than a minute of being called to offer immediate guidance. My family never once felt like a burden as we frequently called on her expertise. She would come in the room, sit down with us, and talk us through the circumstances until we found success.
I understand the nurses have a full patient assignment, but she always made us feel like her only patient. Throughout the stay, she kept my family and me at ease with her calming demeanor as we worked through life as a new family of 3. She epitomized the type of employee that all nurses should aspire to be. This example along with her patience throughout our care was truly second to none. Thank you again and we will forever cherish our experience.
