This is above and beyond for Terri to have coordinated this for her patient so that he could see the love of his life one last time.
Terri has a Covid positive patient here on IMC whose wife is a Covid positive patient on another unit who ended up choosing to enter into hospice care today. Terri worked all afternoon to figure out a way for her patient to be able to see his wife for them to be able to say their goodbyes. Terri was able to coordinate with the RN, unit manager, IMC unit manager, Resource RN, and respiratory therapists working on both units to make a plan to bring the wife to visit her husband on IMC. By late afternoon, the wife was able to visit, and the two patients were able to say their goodbyes before the wife returned to her room. This is above and beyond for Terri to have coordinated this for her patient so that he could see the love of his life one last time, in person, versus only being able to talk on the phone or facetime.
