While doing rounds on night shift I went into this patient's room, and the first thing she said to me after I introduced myself, "My nurse today, is such an amazing person, and I am so thankful that she worked with me today. Today, I had gotten the news that my mother passed away. This nurse sat down with me, cried with me, held my hand, and offered to pray with me. She made me feel not so alone. From the moment she walked into the moment she left she was like a ray of sunshine that kept bursting through the grey sky that seemed to take over my day."
I've had the pleasure of working with Terrill for a while now, and before this patient told me who her nurse was, I knew automatically it had to be her. She has this way about her, this aura. In this patient's time of grieving, she had made an enormous positive impact to support and comfort her. She is a role model to all her fellow team members always displaying compassion and empathy. She is an extraordinary nurse that displays the epitome of BayCare Values: Trust, Respect, Dignity, Responsibility, and Excellence.
