I do not have enough vocabulary to share what an exceptional nurse Terry is. I was in the hospital for 15 days and every time Terry was my nurse, it was pure joy. First, he is very skilled in seeing the little things that I did not like (positioning, leg brace, getting up and moving); and making sure I understood how important they were in my getting better.

Terry always had a smile on his face along with imparting something funny to say, but more importantly, he also had very encouraging stories to share. I could hear him talking to other patients with the same upbeat encouragement as he worked, and recognized that he is a nurse’s nurse. Every time I would mention Terry to other staff, everyone spoke so highly of him. He never left my room without asking "is there anything else you need or I can do?”

Because my husband was very traumatized by my fall, Terry’s calm demeanor and taking time to talk with him gave my husband much assurance that I was going to recover. He was especially concerned about my pain level and would do everything he could to make me comfortable. I am a sixty-seven-year-old lady and was just a little uneasy to have a male nurse but that changed quickly with Terry caring for me, and I looked forward to him being my nurse. I am sure and know that I got better faster because of his care. Terry deserves all the accolades for the amazing nurse he is, and Miami Valley Hospital is so fortunate to have him on the team.
