Thelma is being honored as a Daisy recipient for her care that went above and beyond when caring for a patient who was being treated in our hospital for colon cancer.
"Thelma is so patient, loving, kind, understanding, and most importantly a great listener," the patient's sister said in her nomination letter. "She treats my sister as if she is her own sister."
The sister said that any request the patient had, Thelma made sure to fulfill it. Even when her sister was moved to a different room, Thelma still took the time to check in on her and comfort her.
"At times she goes above and beyond to make sure my sister is happy," she said. "Because of her kindness, my sister and our family really appreciate her."
