My nurse was the best nurse I have ever had over the 46 years I have been treated at West Penn. She was truly outstanding! She did not come in just to take vitals; she came in and genuinely was concerned about my well-being and how she could make me more comfortable.
She did not stand there and ask me, she pulled up a chair and took the time for me to think about what I may or may not have needed. I explained to her that I was concerned about my husband being positive for Coronavirus, just as I was, and not seeking treatment. She took the time to talk to him on the phone and convince him to come to the hospital for proper treatment. She was so loving with her approach in talking with him and convinced him that it was best. She should be on a special team for comforting others in their time of need, because her heart is always at the center of her patient's needs. Soon there afterwards, my husband was admitted to the COVID Unit and when even when he called me, she spoke loud enough to be sure I knew she was there, caring for him and always addressing me by name in the background. she cared for not just me, but my whole family during a very difficult time!
