She was the definition of a lifesaver that night and I truly do not know how I would have made it through the crazy night without her.
One night shift I admitted the worst GI bleed I have ever seen. Theresa, who had worked that day saw that I did not have a lot of help with my admission due to only one other person being at the nurses’ station with me. She then contacted our charge RN to ask if it was okay to stay late to help me. If it weren’t for her staying an extra 4 hours, I would not have made it through the night. She helped me with the admission, all labs, starting the massive transfusion protocol, hung the meds I gave that night, assisted with bedside scope, and helped me chart from 7-11 pm to keep me caught up. She was the definition of a lifesaver that night and I truly do not know how I would have made it through the crazy night without her. I am so thankful that she stayed late, after already working 12 hours, just to help me. She is so amazing and the most caring and compassionate nurse I know.
