In October, Adam's patient was on a PCA pump with continuous morphine and additional morphine boluses on demand when the patient pushed the button. The patient received too much medication by this method. The nurse obtained a prescription from the surgeon and got Adam. Adam stayed with the patient for two hours checking vitals, keeping the patient awake, talking with the patient, and stayed 30 minutes past his shift until the patient was awake and alert. The patient finally became alert enough to remember Adam's name and even told him 'bye' as he left for the day. Adam was very nice, compassionate, and comforting to this patient. Adam showed great concern and put the patient before himself. The professionalism and caring nature Adam displayed was very encouraging.
