My niece was a recent patient. Given her very poor prognosis after only a few days, she was moved to CCC. Tom, her nurse cared for her for the last 2 days of her life. His attention to detail and his professionalism were obvious right away. He respectfully provided comfort measures for my niece. Tom was very thorough in his explanation of the process of removing life support. He took the time to genuinely address our concerns. His compassion made a very stressful time bearable and helped the family feel at ease. Tom has all the qualities of an excellent nurse. It is with deep gratitude I nominate Tom for this Award.
