Thomas was very compassionate to the family members on the phone for a patient he was going to take off the vent and place on comfort care. Since the patient's family could not be here with the patient, Thomas told them that he would stay with the patient until he passed away. Thomas did that, he played comforting music, held his hand, and talked to the patient until he passed away. It was so comforting to see Thomas do this for his patient so he did not die alone. Thomas exemplifies compassionate care. He deserves the DAISY Award!
