Tierra spoke for what she believed was best for my daughter and us as her parents.
Tierra went above and beyond for our baby girl. We were admitted to the ER at 4 days old for hypothermia and once transferred to the NICU she supported us non-stop. As a night nurse you don’t always think decisions can be made during that time as all the main support is asleep. I would sleep in the room every night (we were there 8 nights total) and talk with Tierra about our options. One night, working with her charge nurse, they made the decision to remove my daughter’s IV due to it "going bad" and transitioned to a feeding tube. There was a difference of opinions on if this was the best path to get our baby towards transitioning to heading home in the long run. Tierra spoke for what she believed was best for my daughter and us as her parents. Once we had the feeding tube and no IV my baby girl started acting like a whole new kid. She quickly jumped past previous concerns as she was eating more and getting her body stronger. My true belief is without Tierra we would have been in the NICU for much longer and had a more difficult experience.
