Tina stops and pays particular attention to those details that help me, the patient, to feel like I matter, even though I am in a situation where I can only do things that can be done while sitting in a chair. She always makes sure I feel valued and important, even though I am dependent on the nurses for my care. She also goes out of her way the entire length of her shift to ensure I never have to wait for my medications, even though she has a handful of other patients to care for. She simply finds the time or makes the time for me, so everything is always on time.
Yes, I realize emergencies arise and things happen that may cause a nurse to be in another patient's room for longer than expected; but, overall, this nurse has never made me wait for anything during her shift. I am grateful for her professionalism, personal touch, and a real and honest approach to her job as a nurse.
