She elevates our team and our care through her example and her absolute passion for the work we do.
Tina Knutson is truly one of the most talented, compassionate, and hard working nurses I have ever had the pleasure of working with. These words can't even begin to describe the absolute force of nature that Tina is in the ICU. She can simultaneously lead the unit as charge, audit your central line as champion, troubleshoot your arterial line as a mentor, watch your patients so you can take lunch, and care for the sickest patient on the unit while comforting their mother at bedside. Now this is not a literal example but just how it feels to see her in action. Most recently, December holidays in the ICU can be difficult to staff but of course Tina worked an overtime shift on Christmas eve. We admitted an extremely ill DKA from the EC which ended up being Tina's admission. She didn't leave that room for what seemed like a good 4 or 5 hours. I was in and out helping her as much as I could but she never complained. That's just Tina. Every employee in the Woodlands knows her and her work ethic. Committees, improvement projects, charging, precepting, you name it she does it. I honestly don't know where we would be as a unit without her. She is a one in a billion type of nurse and we're all so much better for having her around. She elevates our team and our care through her example and her absolute passion for the work we do. I could go on for hours with stories like these. We all could. Tina is our whirlwind and force of nature and we do everything we can to make sure she knows it.
