Tracey is inspiring in a way that is hard to explain. She makes me love to take care of people because it is so clear that she does.
I write this trying to think of only one story. It's hard to pick only one time that Tracey touched a patient or a staff member. So many of the amazing things I've seen are patient-related. So those aren't my stories to tell. What I can tell you is that I have seen this woman do some incredible things for people. I've seen her be brave and kind. She's everything you imagine a nurse to be when you are bandaging your dolls as a little girl. She is inspiring in a way that is hard to explain. She makes me love to take care of people because it is so clear that she does. She takes care of people in so many ways. I've seen her rush to another floor for a patient who thought his sugar was low. When she found out that it wasn't low, but that he didn't feel good because he hadn't eaten, she asked transport to please stop at the bistro before bringing him to his next appointment. A few times I've seen her meet patients who have mobility issues out front of the hospital to give them things such as medication coupons. She's held their hands while they cried, she's been their shoulder to lean on, and to many, she has become a trusted member of their care team. To me, Tracey is the best supervisor I could have ever hoped for. Her example of compassion and her instinct to put patient care above all else is something I believe makes her the best nurse I know and a true DAISY Nurse.
