I have been an infusion patient for IVIG therapy for 12+ years here at RMC. This treatment has kept me alive despite my terminal illness status.
I am nominating Tracy Darden for the RMC DAISY Award. Tracy is not only a nurse, she is an angel. Just like her predecessors, she keeps me going, not just physically but mentally and emotionally. I can't begin to explain how it feels to have a chemo-type treatment every 2 weeks for 12 years. To have an illness that consumes your every thought, but Tracy seems to know. She cares about me and my wife. She knows my breathing, she knows my walk, and she knows when I am not at my best. She takes the time to ask questions and to do whatever necessary to help me and my family get through my struggles.
Tracy makes me laugh. They say laughter can cure many illnesses or at least ease the pain. She gets to know her patients and learns how to make them smile. I believe that God places people in your life for the better good. I know God brought Tracy to me. I smile when I hear her voice. Her hugs give me the courage to face my battles, God made her a nurse because she has that goodness and compassion to be the Best of the Best!
